Week Six Task Two: Democracy and China
Some social networking platforms, such as Facebook and YouTube were blocked by the Chinese government. The problems are those platforms may provide a channel for people to share their own experience or opinions without knowing who you are. For some careerists, those platforms are good tools to incite other people. The careeists might try to stiffen their wavering people against the government; therefore, those forms were forced to be closed in China.
So, people may ask, what is the democracy of China? People can not share their opinions?
Of course, China still has democracy. That is, people should share opinions online through the channel, which the government allows. Also, the content should not include anything against the constitution or any other laws. Therefore, we can not say there is no free speech or democracy in China, but all things should obey the laws. The government offers some channels for people to complain. For example, citizens could leave messages to the mayor on the official web page of the city government. Also, for most websites of China, they all have something like the securty check before users post their stuff to aviod violence, pornography and information against immorality.

Week Five Task Two: Social Media Site
Elmore, K 2010, What is social meida? Kentucky Banker Magazine, http://search.proquest.com.libraryproxy.griffith.edu.au/docview/226110184
For most of us, social media or internet may have the images like Facebook, Twitter or YouTube. However, we can say those are platforms of social media but not all social media. Then, the question is "what is social media?"
According to Elmore (2010), social media actually is the way people connecting with each other and providing information. Social media offers individuals a place to deliver, receive and common the information. Some most well-known social media site are Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr and Blog of course. Those platforms allow users to share their information to a group of "audience".
In short, we can say that we are living with social media everyday. Just simply turning on the computer and geting on the internet; chating with friends, share photos and watching the most popular videos.

Week 4:Post one "What is the cybernetics"
Duffy. P. R, 1984, Cybernetics, Sage Publications. http://job.sagepub.com.libraryproxy.griffith.edu.au/content/21/1/33.full.pdf
What is Cybernetics (控制论)?
"Cybernetics is concerned with communication and manipulation (熟练的操作;操纵;控制) of information and its use in controlling the behavior of biological, physical, and chemical systems. Others would add society, social systems, and organizations, as areas for cybernetic study and research." ----------- P.R.Duffy, 1984.
Two virtues of great importance:
Cybernetics offers
1. a sigle vocabulary and a single set of divers types of systems (e.g Microsoft and Apple); and
2. a method for the scientific treatment of complex systems.
Difference between Cybernetics and Systems Theory:
1. systems theory is frequently but incorrectly identified with cybernetic and control theory; and
2. different historical origins; and
3. both approaches have led scholars of communication to a study of larger context of systems with which communication is identified.

Week Three Task Two:The old internet technology-
As the internet growing so fast today, many media we used before have faded away from the internet. Most of those media could not fit the needs of our life. For example, we want to share photos at anytime and anywhere. Some of the old internet technologies had to change to catch up the need of the users.
Let's take AOL as an example. Let's first to have a look of the offical website of AOL today (www.aol.com). In order to increasing the usage of the people all over the world, they have already provided lots of ways to find them, which were really young applications in the 21st century. For example, Twitter. It's believed that, more and more people will join Twitter and share their opinions and ideas on that.

As we all know that, Facebook and Twitter are two major networking platforms for us, lots of other applications or users relying on them, such as the Talkbox, etc. Facebook offers a username/ID that users' friends and families knows, that is, easy to find each other. That is why lots of other media could rely on them. Users do not have to create a new ID and password, just using Facebook or Twitter and sync the address book, then they can invite their old friends to join another group of new media. Personally, something like Facebook or Twitter provide a "user ID" might last long because people still need a identity through internet activities.

Week Two Task One: What is Communication?
Communication, personally, is the way a subject getting connection with other subjects. For example, the teacher talks to the students and we use MSN to chat with each other.
But I think the communication could be set as two major types: one-way communication and both-way communication.

Based on the theory of Shannon and Weaver, we can say the one way communication is only the messge producers processing the noise source to the message receiver. For example, when we have presentation, the main purpose of the presentation itself is to produce the information to the audience. However, if we want to get some feedback from the audience based on the presentation, we can say this is both-way communication.
What eles can be one way communication? Some media, such as books, telegraph, radio, photograph and Screen industries could be put as one-way communication, as we can only "see" what they want to "tell" us, but we can not "talk"to them at the same time. Oppositly, the media, like telephone and internet, give us a channel to chat, which is hearing from them and telling them somthing.
